Waste Connections, a leader in solid waste management, seeks a dedicated 2nd Shift Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This position will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks to ensure safe and efficient operations. The position requires evening hours, making it perfect for those who prefer or need a second shift schedule. Perform routine and preventative maintenance on waste disposal trucks and equipment. Diagnose and repair operational problems in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components. Ensure that all repairs and maintenance are performed in line with company safety and compliance standards. Document maintenance, repair activities, and inventory requirements. Assist in the training of junior mechanics and maintenance personnel. Collaborate with other team members and departments to optimize maintenance procedures. Strong knowledge of diesel engine components and operation. Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems. Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment. Good communication and teamwork skills. Physical stamina and strength required for handling heavy machinery.
