Overview The open position is specifically for our Wichita Falls, Texas operation. Since operations began in 1974, the Wichita Falls plant team has been dedicated to quality float glass and coating operations and has produced glass for some of the most iconic buildings.At the heart of the Wichita Falls plant are two float glass lines, one of which is oxy-fuel-based. The oxy-fuel-based line provides significantly improved energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact. Both lines utilize automatic, camera-based inspection systems that help to ensure product quality and consistency.The plant currently operates one coating line, and a new jumbo magnetron sputtered vacuum deposition (MSVD) glass coater. Slated as the largest of its kind in North America, the new coater is capable of producing glass in standard sizes of 130-by-204 inches, with larger sizes available for special orders.The reliability engineer will work specifically in our Coater operations.The role of the reliability engineer is to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. He/she selects engineering techniques to solve problems and makes recommendations including the coordination of projects for process improvements.As needed, the reliability engineer will direct and coordinate a variety of installation, repair, and maintenance tasks performed by supervising hourly Mechanics so that the production departments can function properly and reliably, and achieve their quality and quantity goals. The incumbent will also be expected to establish and maintain reliable equipment using predictive and preventative maintenance tools, as well as preserve plant assets. Additionally, the incumbent should continuously seek methods for reducing maintenance costs while ensuring high equipment availability and reliability in a safe working environment.Identify best practices and improvement opportunities with the Engineering & Maintenance team and coordinate the implementation of this within day-to-day activities or assigned projects. Responsibilities

  • Coordinates repair & maintenance as well as supports the maintenance team to identify risks related to equipment reliability.Develop short-term and long-term controls and treatment options to reduce the risks for unplanned failure and higher costs.Drives continuous improvement of reliability of key plant equipment measured in terms of unplanned failures, costs of maintenance, and mean time to failure.Ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment/installations and spare parts including the replacement of key equipment & spares. These goals will be measured according to defined KPIs (such as downtimes, production losses, cost).
  • Initiates all root cause failure analysis for any breakdown resulting in lost production
  • Analyzes predictive and preventive maintenance data and uses this data to determine the replacement or repair schedule with the intention of reducing maintenance costs for key operating equipment while maintaining the operational availability goals
  • Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations
  • Provides training for production/maintenance employees in the proper execution of procedures and instructions which are documented in AMS.
  • Develops communication boards to be used in Production and Reliability & Maintenance meetings as well as the machines in the fields.
  • Provide performance statistics of the technical department.
  • Create and maintain an environment of open and effective communication that is process-oriented to share best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Be a role model in exhibiting the company values, especially demonstrate trust and respect by listening to, involving, enabling, and empowering people. Qualifications Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field in an industrial environment, from a four-year college or university, desired.An advanced degree in this or related field is highly desirable.Exposure to project engineering and plant maintenance is strongly preferred.Work experience :3-5 years of applicable experience (minimum) in production, engineering and/or maintenancePreferred experience from manufacturing companies in similar industriesAt least 3 years of experience focused on reliability are preferred
