Job Description Critical Connection, inc is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Lawton, Oklahoma. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours - Employment Type: Travel Travel Registered Nurse or Local Registered Nurse (RN) Med-Surg in Lawton, OK. /n /n - $2100-$2200 per week, Net take home. Paid Weekly. /n - First Day Health/Dental/Vision Benefits through UHC. /n - 13-week contract /n - Night shift (7:30p-7am) /n /n Position Summary: Med-Surg Nurses provide care for primarily adult patients pre- and post-surgical procedures; they also attend to those who are being treated with pharmaceuticals to manage acute and chronic illnesses. /n Responsibilities Include: /n /n - Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans /n - Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse /n - Educates patients on surgical procedures /n - Records patients’ medical information and vital signs /n - Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients, and interprets and record electronic displays /n - Initiates corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology /n - Provides bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients /n - Initiates patient education plan, as prescribed by physician. Teaches patients and significant others how to manage their illness/injury, by explaining: post-treatment home care needs /n - Changes dressings, inserts catheters, starts IVs /n - Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient /n - Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol /n - Participates in discharge planningBecause patients need round-the-clock care, working hours include days, nights, weekends andholidays. /n /n Physical Demands: /n /n - Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds.
