Roles & Responsibilities Provide safe, high-quality nursing care on a 24-bed med-surg ortho/neuro unit, managing assigned patient load with confidence Perform thorough assessments, implement care plans, and document patient progress clearly and accurately Administer medications and treatments according to orders while monitoring patients for responses and side effects Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate timely patient care and effective discharge planning Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, post-op care, and recovery to support positive outcomes Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns to providers when necessary Contribute to unit workflows and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction Qualifications Active RN license for the state of Oklahoma (or compact RN eligible) Current BLS certification required; ACLS and wound/orthopedic certifications preferred Experience in med-surg, orthopedics, or neuro nursing — comfortable with a 1:5 ratio on a 24-bed unit Comfortable with 12-hour day shifts and the pace of a surgical/ortho/neuro unit Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Education Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Knowledge & Skills Solid knowledge of med-surg, orthopedic, and neuro patient care principles Skilled in medication administration, IV therapy, post-operative care, and wound management Proficient in patient assessment, vital sign interpretation, and early recognition of deterioration Good documentation practices and familiarity with electronic health record systems Strong teamwork, time management, and patient/family education skills Benefits Generous housing stipend and comfortable temporary housing options to make your travel stay easy Medical, dental, and vision coverage so you can focus on care, not paperwork Licensure assistance and reimbursement to keep you ready and compliant Travel reimbursement and support for on-assignment expenses Paid time off to recharge between assignments Access to a supportive team that values your experience and work-life balance Referral bonus program to reward you for bringing great clinicians aboard Professional development support — continuing education and training opportunities available Travel Perks: Explore Lawton, OK Explore the scenic Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge with hiking and wildlife viewing, climb or drive up Mount Scott for panoramic views, relax at nearby Lake Lawtonka, stroll through the historic Medicine Park cobblestone streets and shops, visit Fort Sill for military history and local events, and check out the Museum of the Great Plains for regional culture and exhibits.
