people heal. Roles & Responsibilities Provide compassionate,
patient-centered nursing care for behavioral health patients on the
APU unit Assess, monitor and document patient condition and
progress with accuracy and empathy Administer medications and
treatments safely according to policies and provider orders Use
de-escalation and crisis-intervention skills to maintain a safe
therapeutic environment Collaborate with interdisciplinary team
members to develop and implement individualized care plans Educate
patients and families about treatment plans, coping strategies and
resources Champion patient safety and regulatory compliance through
thorough documentation and communication Qualifications Current,
active Registered Nurse license in the state of Oklahoma (or
compact license as applicable) Experience in behavioral health
nursing or on an APU preferred Current BLS (Basic Life Support)
required; advanced certifications (e.g., ACLS, psychiatric
certifications) a plus Comfort and skill with crisis intervention,
de-escalation techniques and therapeutic communication Ability to
work nights and support a 12-hour shift model for the duration of
the contract Education Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Knowledge & Skills
Solid knowledge of behavioral health nursing principles and
psychiatric medications Strong assessment skills for acute mental
health presentations Excellent clinical documentation and
electronic medical record (EMR) proficiency Ability to work calmly
in high-pressure situations and prioritize patient safety
Team-oriented communication and collaboration with
interdisciplinary staff Cultural sensitivity and patient-centered
