Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: State License - Oklahoma Certifications: ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), BLS (AHA) Must-Have: Current certifications and state license Description: This is a 13-week assignment for an open intensive care unit. The unit is a combination of medical ICU, surgical ICU, CVICU, and neuroICU. In the event of weather conditions preventing helicopter transport, pediatric patients will be cared for in the unit. The unit consists of two sections: a 14-bed unit and a 12-bed unit. Patient placement is determined based on bed availability, not by reason for admission. The staffing ratio in the ICU is 1:2, with the occasional 1:3 for ICU patients. Low census may result in floating to another unit, which has a staffing ratio of 1:4, or to the emergency department to care for holding patients, maintaining similar patient ratios.
